What a fantastic NAIDOC celebration we had on Friday! The day was filled with learning, laughter, and a deep sense of connection as we came together to celebrate First Nations culture, language, and heritage. A huge thank you to Layne, Jamie, and Duane for sharing their incredible knowledge and stories about language, culture, and connection to Country — our students were captivated and inspired. We were also honoured to welcome Zac Bennett Brook, who shared his artistic talents and cultural insights with our school community. A big thank you as well to our wonderful P&C for hosting a delicious BBQ that brought everyone together. It was a truly special day that celebrated the spirit of NAIDOC Week.

Kindergarten had a fantastic day exploring Symbio Wildlife Park! The children were full of excitement as they learnt about all sorts of animals — from furry friends to scaly creatures. One of the highlights of the day was meeting Chomp the alligator, who quickly became a class favourite! The students loved watching the animals up close, asking thoughtful questions, and sharing what they had learnt about how animals live and grow. It was a wonderful hands-on experience that sparked curiosity and plenty of smiles!

Stage 2 had an absolute blast participating in the PSSA Gala Day today! The students represented our school with pride, showing outstanding teamwork, enthusiasm, and determination throughout the day. Whether they were cheering from the sidelines or giving their all on the field, every student demonstrated impressive sportsmanship and positive energy. Their exemplary behaviour and support for one another made us incredibly proud. It was a fantastic day filled with fun, friendship, and plenty of smiles!

Our Book Week Character Parade was a wonderful celebration of creativity and community spirit! It’s always such a special event where our school comes together to share the joy of reading and imagination. Students — and parents — truly went above and beyond with their amazing costumes. The enthusiasm was contagious, with students proudly dancing and parading alongside their classmates and friends. A big thank you to everyone for your efforts and participation — we are so lucky to have such a supportive and imaginative community here at Thirroul Public School.

Thirroul Public School celebrated Harmony Day with pride and positivity! The day was filled with activities that highlighted the importance of inclusiveness, respect, and belonging. Students wore a splash of orange to show their support and took part in discussions and creative tasks that celebrated our diverse backgrounds. It was a wonderful reminder that everyone belongs, and our differences make our school community stronger and more vibrant.

The Backflips Against Bullying performance was an exciting and meaningful experience for students at Thirroul Public School. Through high-energy acrobatics, humour, and engaging storytelling, the performers delivered powerful messages about kindness, respect, and making positive choices. Students learnt practical ways to stand up for themselves and others, and to build a culture where everyone feels safe and included. It was a fun and inspiring reminder that being kind is always the coolest move!

Congratulations to our Stage 2 Choir, who performed brilliantly at the Choral Festival last night! Their beautiful singing, confident stage presence, and teamwork made us all incredibly proud. The students represented Thirroul Public School with enthusiasm and talent, showcasing the wonderful results of their dedication and rehearsals. A huge well done to our young performers and the staff who supported them — it was a truly memorable evening filled with music and joy!
